Muslim Creators

finding your creative ummah

Most of my friendships are online.

I caught up with a Muslim brother today, Adil, who I knew from back in my X/Twitter days.

Interestingly, he was actually on board with me to start a previous version of what is now the Muslim Creators Skool Group (but our Qadr was that those plans never worked out).

Anyway, we hadn't spoken for a while so our 2+ hour call went by in the blink of an eye.

Alhamdulillah. Good friendships with other Muslim creators are fruitful in many ways.

The most obvious for me?

IRON SHARPENS IRON 🔨

Having other ambitious people with similar goals to you is key to growth.

And it's doubly true if they have the same values as you (Islam), because Muslim friends are not just concerned for your dunya, but your akhirah too, helping you maintain taqwa in your interactions in sha Allah.

You can trade strategies based on what's working for you.

You can help cover each others' blind spots.

You can help each other out through low moments.

Adil helped me flesh out an idea for a Youtube video I was struggling with; ma sha Allah, he's a fantastic copywriter with great knowledge on Islam, so this was extremely helpful.

I helped him put together some ideas for a product and coaching offer he's working on, which he was previously on the fence about but got enough clarity to finally start working on it after taking a break from creating.

This is the stuff I love, which is why most of my friends are online friends (other creators who are on the same journey as me)...

Anyway, a quick aside for an update.

I'm going through another period of reduced activity in the community recently.

I'm focused on:

* Building out classroom content to give even more value. I plan on making my free stuff better than all the paid stuff I've learned. For example, my Threads strategies have helped me grow to 4k+ followers in 3 months. Most "growth gurus" don't see that kind of growth... watch this space.

* Building my coaching program where I personally go into individuals' creator businesses, hand holding through the process of growing and monetising their brand the way I teach (heavy emphasis on email marketing).

Both of these are supported by the 1:1 conversations I've been having with select members, because I'm learning a lot about what kind of support would be most valuable to you.

All that to remind you...

Even though I may not be in the community posts section too often myself, the relationships you'll make with other creators on platforms like the Muslim Creators Skool group will far often exceed the ROI you can get from any course, book or training—wait...

WHY ON EARTH WOULD I TELL YOU THAT? 🤐

You could argue I'm making a bad business decision by mentioning this, since I offer paid mentorship and am also saying the relationships you'll make for free are more valuable...

Well, paid mentorship has its place to accelerate growth and get past sticking points in specific areas, otherwise I wouldn't offer it.

But organic relationships are also key.

So make use of it.

Reach out to others and connect.

Organise calls. Get to know each other. Help one another.

If you've somehow ended up on this list without also being in the Muslim Creators Skool group, here's the link to join while it's still free:

As-salamu aleiykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, my halal creator friend 🙂
